Lodge Pro-Logic Cast-Iron Aebleskiver Pan Review

Lodge Pro-Logic Cast-Iron Aebleskiver Pan
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been cooking aebleskivers for several years in an excellent no-name cast iron pan that I bought in Solvang ten years ago. It is very well broken in with a smooth non-stick patina in all seven indents. I want to teach my sons how to cook aebleskivers themselves because they will be out on their own soon, and it never hurts to be able to attract a woman who loves Danish delicacies!
Therefore, I have been looking to buy some additional aebleskiver pans and I was excited to see this new pan from Lodge, so I ordered one to give it a try. I like the design a lot and am impressed with how it heats up quickly and holds it's temperature nicely. The first batch of aebleskivers had some sticking, but I expected that. I will need to use it a lot more before it has the same non-stick surfaces as my old pan (no, it's not for sale!), but I can tell that this pan will get there with use.
By the way, I've found that there are many recipes for aebleskivers and several different techniques for cooking them. I'm sure that they all will work well with some practice, but I'll describe the one that I've settled on, because it is so easy:
Heat the pan at a medium-low setting. Take about two cups of prepared pancake mix (I use Krusteaz Buttermilk) and add a couple of teaspoons of sugar. Mix it in and stir in enough cold water to make the consistency about the same as you would for drop bisquits. Don't overmix it and let it sit for awhile to rise a bit before you cook it. Put a little butter or margerine in each indent and add about a teaspoonful of batter to each indent (If you're new to aebleskivers, I recommend trying only three at once.) I then drizzle a little butter on the edges of each indent. After about a minute, I use a knitting needle (or chopstick) to turn each aebleskiver one quarter turn. I add a little more butter and then turn them so the round side is up. I keep turning them with a spoon until they're done. (You'll just have to break one of them open to check, because it's dependent on your batter and temperature.)
Once you get it down (usually after a few rejects), serve them in threes on a small plate with thinned out raspberry jam and powdered sugar. Once you eat them, you'll understand why people go through all this just to make a pancake that looks like a racquetball!

Glazed Aluminized Steel, 14 x 21 24-Cupcake/Muffin Pan 113081 Review

Glazed Aluminized Steel, 14 x 21 24-Cupcake/Muffin Pan 113081

The quality of bakeware can be the difference between a good muffin and a GREAT muffin. Try baking your favorite cornbread in a cheap aluminum tin sometime. Then bake it in a cast iron skillet. Which would you rather eat?
For most of my life, I baked muffins in hand-me-down aluminum pans. I probably would've continued doing that if not for a fortuitous accident. I'd gone to a Bowery restaurant supplier to buy a couple of cheap pans before a party. For some reason, the shop was closed during their normal business hours. That forced me to go next door, to a shop which does not sell consumer-grade pans -- only professional level pans. And that's how I ended up with my first Chicago Metallic aluminized steel pan. I was impressed with how heavy this was. It was a little intimidating, but I needed a pan right then.
I'm SO glad my (previously) preferred shop was closed that day. I baked a test batch of yogurt cakes as soon as I got home. The exterior was far more chewy and crisp than previous batches baked in thinner, less substantial pans. The interior remained moist and chewy. Bake times can be reduced, because the pan retains & transmits heat so well. If you have a lot of baking to do in a short time, this pan is your best friend.
Clean up is a snap. Wipe with a clean, soft cloth.

American Kitchen Stainless Steel 6 Piece Bakeware Set Review

American Kitchen Stainless Steel 6 Piece Bakeware Set
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The "American Kitchen Stainless Steel 6 Piece Bakeware Set" is a quality product. I doubt that anyone would be disappointed. Additionally, the set is made in the USA, which only adds to my overall satisfaction. You can tell that they are made in the USA, by the QUALITY of the workmanship, which is more-often-than-not lacking in products manufactured in that country that makes almost everything else sold here in America. Thank-you Amazon.com for carrying an American made item! You should have a special section of your web site dedicated just to American made products. Other consumers like me look for and want to by American made products, even if they may cost a little bit more, because usually the quality of the product is significantly better than products manufactured in that country which makes so much of the stuff sold here in the USA. Now, my question is, where are the matching "American Kitchen" bread pans to go with this set?

Wilton Brownie Blossom 6 Cavity Mold Review

Wilton Brownie Blossom 6 Cavity Mold
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Okay I know that in the ads they bake them or "make them" so they are absolutely perfect (do they machine them from balsa wood or what???), and then put them into a clean fresh mold to make them come out with no flaws and easy as pie for a 10 year old. But I am sure that someone (read that as a professional chef) has some tricks they have learned, maybe I should have done more research and found those tricks first. As is I rate this with 3 starts, because it is VERY EASY to clean, makes some cute brownies - IF you can get enuf of them to come out in decent shape. Just frustrated me (a novice baker) to no end that I couldn't get enough of them in decent shape to impress anyone... And lastly is really easy to use for what it was designed for. Just not designed for me...

I just got this waffle iron the other day. I made waffles this morning and my kids lapped them up! I do wish they were bigger in size but to have all the characters on one is really great. The kids love picking out which ones they want and ate more then they normally would have eaten. I can't wait to try cooking other things in this like the brownies. I thought they cooked really fast if set on the high (4) setting. It is very easy to clean and love they include a little scoop to help put the batter into the character molds. Highly recommend for any Disney fan.

SiliconeZone Heart Muffin Pan Review

SiliconeZone Heart Muffin Pan
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The red is rich and gorgeous, the muffins produced are cute as anything. But they are pretty small, larger than mini-muffins, but smaller than any other muffin I have ever seen. Also, this silicone seems thinner than other pans I have and just a bit less "non-stick." It makes for easier folding, but also distorts the muffins a bit when you remove them from the pan. My grandkids LOVE the little muffins.

The idea of this product is very promising, however, the quality itself is very poor. The top compartment and the toaster (2 of 3 compartments)did not work on the very first day I used it. Unfortunately there are not many other options for a 3 in 1 items like this, but I would not recommend.

Regency Pack of 24 Tulip Standard Baking Cups, White Review

Regency Pack of 24 Tulip Standard Baking Cups, White
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I used these little cups to bake Angel Food Cake and they turned out beautifully. The tulip tops make the cupcakes look so much prettier than they would have been in normal cupcake liners.
Right out of the packaging, they were a little more flimsy than I would have expected. The paper looks like it was mechanically folded or pushed into a mold. The folds themselves are not stuck together, so if you pull too hard they will flatten out a bit. You definitely need to put these liners in a cupcake pan. They will fall apart and flatten out if you pour batter in and they're not in molds.
They're pretty pricey for cupcake liners, but if you only use them once in awhile to make things extra pretty, I think they are perfect and worth their money.

I bought this to make pumpkin cupcakes for my husband. I'm new at cooking and was very intimidated by this pan but they came out great! I thought the cupcakes would be hard to get out, but I greased the pan with a generous portion of Pam cooking spray before pouring in the batter and the cupcakes slid right out when I turned the pan upside down after baking. Great pan for making neat cupcakes even for baking beginners!

American Originals Mini Cupcake Maker Review

American Originals Mini Cupcake Maker
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased the American Originals Mini Cupcake Make for my husband. He loves chocolate and I thought they would be a neater way for him to have his chocolate. It has proven to be correct. The cupcakes are fun to make, although you do have to rebatter every ten minutes or so. I believe it is eight minutes. Then I figured out after frosting a lot of tiny cupcakes that a frosting tip and a bag would be neater and faster. It is. For Father's Day I made the Red Velvet cake with white frosting and the frosting bag and then sprinkles and they were just darling. It makes about 48 cupcakes out of a box mix.

This is a great cupcake carrier with good room for standard sized cupcakes even with lots of frosting or some decorations. I had read a previous review with concerns over losing the clips that hold it together but they seem to have changed that as my clips don't come off, they are attatched. It is very secure and I wasn't worried about dropping them or anything. Very pleased with this product!

SiliconeZone Standard Muffin Pan, Red Review

SiliconeZone Standard Muffin Pan, Red
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
When I received these pans I noticed a strong chemical smell. When I folded them between my fingers to see if they were high-quality, the material turned white, which I've read is an indicator that fillers have been used and they are not pure silicone. I would not buy this product again. I did find some higher-quality Casabella ones where the material doesn't change color if folded.

This is pretty wild bakeware to be sure. Made of high quality Japanese silicone it is non-stick and flexible which means that with just a little twist, your baked goods will come right out. You can cook in the oven or in the microwave. After only a couple of minutes of being out of the oven you can touch this bakeware, unlike glass or metal pans. Easily cleaned, backed by a lifetime warranty, this innovative material has a lot to offer.

I purchased these last October for my boys "penguin" birthday party (we served up chili with 'fish' shaped corn bread). They turned out cute- easy to take out (we used a lot of Pam). I haven't used it since though...not sure the $16.99 plus shipping was worth it. Also, it arrived with a small chip on it. I needed it, it didn't change the shape of the muffins, and the supplier sent a lovely note for purchasing from her...so, all was well.
