Wearever Smart Bake 12 Cup Mini Muffin Pan Review

(More customer reviews)After using different sized molds, I still come back to this mini muffin size as the one that is just right.
I use Wilton's paper liners to make mini cakes and brownies. Cleanup of baked on dribbles have not been a problem so far. I own two of these. I have no regrets that I don't own the 24 piece pan because the smaller pan means one is more likely to have room for it in a fridge for a quick cool. And one feels very doll-housey using it.
I bought this a few years ago. There is an 11 cup silicone mini muffin pan for sale on Amazon but I have no reason to replace this since mini muffins should always have a liner cup and the stiffness of the metal prevents all the little pieces from flopping off.

(More customer reviews)I used this pan to make a cake for my grandson's birthday party. I did two practice runs on using the pan. A regular cake mix will work as well as the recipe that is printed on the underside of the label. I followed the instructions to fill the pan only 3/4 full but with a cake mix, I found this to be too much. Each section has a horizontal line as part of the design for each train car. Fill only to the top of this line so the cakes will be the right height. It is important to follow the instruction to hit the pan firmly on your countertop before placing the batter in the oven - this will eliminate any air bubbles trapped in the cake. When the cake sections are baked, wait 10-15 minutes then turn them out GENTLY onto a wire frame. DO NOT TAP THE BOTTOM OF THE SECTIONS before turning the cakes out since they will come out with some of the design missing.
However, this cake pan works beautifully. I found that a soft paint brush worked very well with hot soapy water when washing the sections out.

Wilton Round Brownie Pop Mold Review

(More customer reviews)I usually don't write reviews on products. Wilton didn't put a lot of information on the packaging for this product so I thought that I would give you a run down on my experience. Here are the keys things to do when making brownie pops:
1. Make the brownie mix (I used Pillsbury). A box mix makes about 24 pops. I bought 2 pop pans to save time.
2. Spray the pan with cooking spray.
3. If you have a cookie scoop put one scoop in each "pop" otherwise fill 2/3 full.
4. Bake for about 30 min on a level baking sheet. Make sure it is not a baking sheet that warps in the oven.
5. When the pops come out of the oven some of the tops may not be flat. Take a spoon and push all of the tops so they are flat.
6. When you take them out of the oven let them completely cool. If you try to take them out early they will break apart. I put mine in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to make it faster.
7. Remove them from the pan very carefully. Place them round side up. I was making pumpkin shaped pops so I wanted the stick on the rounded side. You can also add the stick on the flat side part way through baking. If you do this skip #8 & #9.
8. Take a Lollipop stick and make a hole in each pop.
9. Melt some chocolate chips. Put the melted chocolate in a icing tube and pipe the chocolate into each hole. Place a lollipop stick into each hole right away. Let them set. I put them into the refrigerator again for about 15 min or so.
10. For the icing I made a powder sugar icing. Which is sifted powder sugar, a little water and vanilla. You can also use a petits fours icing. Make sure the icing is not too thin otherwise you will be able to see brown through the icing. You will have to play with the icing consistency.
Hope this helps! Overall I thought the brownie pops where fun to make and you can tailor them to any occasion.

(More customer reviews)Thrilled with the Wilton Brownie Cup Pan. One standard (not family size) box of brownie mix makes 6 well formed cups that rise to the top of each well. Brownies came out slightly crispy on all surfaces that touched the pan which was a nice texture contrast to the soft center. The cups cooled in the pan for about 10 minutes and after a twist to loosen them, they came out easily and without damaging the edges of the cups. Even though it has a non-stick surface I still used a little cooking spray, just to be safe.
Price is comparable to what you would pay for a standard muffin tin. Kudos to Amazon for pricing it about a dollar less than specialty kitchen goods stores and offering Free Super Saver Shipping.
My only complaint would be that the pan does not come with cooking time reduction recommendations. I trimmed 10 minutes off the box's recommendations for an 8x8 pan and they came out perfectly. I admit it was pure luck, but had things gone terribly wrong, my review may have been a bit different.
The directions that accompany the pan say to hand wash the pan in warm soapy water. I didn't. I threw it in the dishwasher like I do all my other pans and it was fine. I'm sure over time I will pay the price for this little convenience.
Can't wait to try the pan with cake mix.

(More customer reviews)This is a great product! I can't believe no one thought of this sooner. I cook pretty much anything in it these days and they all look and taste great. It is absolutely the best for steaming vegetables. No more waiting for water to boil and over or under cook vegetables. Everything comes out cooked evenly and tasting great with the original flavors of the food and the vegetables. The instructions are very easy to follow. If you have kids, instead of running to a local fast food place, just season pieces of chicken and cook for about 7 minutes or so and you will have healthy, great tasting chicken nuggets. If you have a busy life, always on the run but hate fast food, this is a great addition to your life.
I love mine and 2 of my friends bought theirs and they love them too!

Dualit Classic 4-Slice Toaster Review

(More customer reviews)I have mixed feelings about this item. So much so that I put off reviewing it for a long time. I've owned mine over a year now, and it is time to speak up.
On the one hand, I really want to like it. And not just because I spent a good sized hunk of cash on it. I like the idea of an industrial, commercial-grade toaster that makes great toast, is indestructible, and looks great doing it.
On the other hand, I kind of don't like it. It takes up a lot of space, the slots aren't wide enough for a bagel, or deep enough for a wide piece of bread. I had to buy the optional sandwich cages to allow me to stuff bread into the slots that wouldn't otherwise fit. It needs to be preheated, and even after it is, the toast is inconsistent and uneven.
It does look great on the counter, and feels very heavy-duty. But, it just isn't very good at making toast, and that is supposed to be the point.
Sadly, I don't think I would buy this again.

(More customer reviews)Easy to use- my 10yr old made the cake & I supervised. Used 1 cake mix with the filling option (made Boston Creme cake- it was great!) which was plenty for our family. Took about 3min less time to cook than the directions said, but it was easy to trim the overcooked bottom portion of the cake. We had a minor issue with the cake sticking to the silicone, so she may not have sprayed the mold well enough in that one spot. The top half does take 10 min less time to bake than bottom half, as the directions say. If you want the bottom of the cupcake decorated, I suggest you do this before placing the top half on it. (Assembly is easy.) Then frost and decorate the top half. My kids had fun decorating it and look forward to using it again. I found it on clearance for $5 so I am very pleased with it.

(More customer reviews)The steamer is of good quality and works as intended, but I feel it has design flaws that make it unsatisfactory for me. First thing I noticed is that the knob is very hard to turn. It is a small diameter so it is hard for me to grip tightly enough to comfortably turn as it has a lot of tension on it's spring. Next, the indicator for the timer is just a dimple in the light gray knob. It is only about 2mm and is very hard for me to see. Finally, the trays for cooking eggs are made of a plastic and seem to cause uneven cooking. When the top of the egg is done to perfection the bottom is still raw, so by the time it is cooked on the bottom the top half is too hard. I have used an aluminum measuring 1/4 cup to cook eggs with and it cooks much more evenly with the metal container. In all other aspects it is fine.

Wilton Recipe Right Mini Loaf Pan Review

(More customer reviews)I should have written this review earlier, I would have given it a higher rating...but I have since found the Williams Sonoma Gold Touch Line (their previous one, manufactured by Chicago Metallic), and those mini pans just deliver the most awesome browning ever, so this little Wilton guy will probably rarely get used. I would highly recommend Chicago Metallic if you can find their mini pans. BUT, if you are just wanting middle-of-the-line basic baking wares, this size is great. I like splitting recipes by 4 and making a small loaf to give away or just for my husband and I. The small size really curbs over-eating most of the time. Or you can buy four of these, which will be equivalent to a regular loaf pan, and just divide the batter from a regular recipe into all four pans.

(More customer reviews)I am a long time biscuit maker. I certainly know how to pat out the dough and cut them. However, with this pan I use my large ice cream disher and just drop them in, brush with butter and bake.
I put a little butter (or bacon grease) in each section and put the pan in oven when I turn it on to preheat to 430 degrees. That is one of the keys....have the pan hot. Makes a wonderful, crust on the bottom and sides and you don't have the mess of patting out the dough. Makes nice crusty

They truly are non-stick and virtually no cleanup. I was in the need for 2 new pans and ran across these at a closeout type store and purchased them at a bargain. I am so glad that I did. I cannot rave enough about these, I will never buy any other pan for baking ever again. The price on Amazon is a good price, other stores are charging $25 and up per pan.

Norpro 3 Piece Stainless Steel Cookie Scoop Set Review

(More customer reviews)I just got these and I could tell just by looking at them that the sizes were inaccurate. The 2 tsp. scoop actually holds 1 level tablespoon. The 1 tablespoon scoop holds 1 1/2 tablespoons, and the 2 tablespoon scoop actually holds 3 tablespoons. This won't be a problem with most people but for some people who might be running a catering business and are concerned with things like cost and portion control it could be. The scoops themselves are well made and can probably handle the stiffest of cookie doughs. The action on the largest scoop isn't as smooth as the other two but I probably won't use it very often anyway. I'd use it as an ice cream scoop if I didn't already have one.
UPDATE: I've noticed that since this review was published that Amazon has updated the description of the item to show the accurate sizes.

Wilton Disney PIXAR Cars Baking Cups Review

(More customer reviews)Forgive me if this is common knowledge, but I didn't know how many liners came in a pack and the listing didn't state it anywhere, so I thought I'd let everyone know there are 50 liners. They're super cute and my soon-to-be 5-year-old can't wait to eat his Cars cupcakes at his birthday party.
Oh, and avoid having a DUH! moment like I did. Use white or yellow cake in these, not chocolate. You can't see the design with the dark cake, which rather defeats the purpose! Luckily I only wasted a dozen.
