Wilton Shamrock Pan Review

Wilton Shamrock Pan
Average Reviews:

This is a fun shaped pan and extremely easy to clean by hand. I do not put it in the dishwasher as it would darken. Keep in mind it is very lightweight aluminum but thus far seems to evenly distribute heat. When I ordered it I thought it was a 4 leaf, but the bottom protrusion is a stem. I think it is a decent price for an inexpensive novelty cake pan.

I compared this to my Wilton cookie pan that I have had for years. It is not as heavy, but pretty close. It also has the handles on the sides to grasp. I looked at a set of 3 cookie pans for a little more, but seriously, you only use 1. Love the size, those medium frozen pizzas fit just right. I'm happy. Oh yeah, eligible for free shipping.

When I baked cake in the cupcake liners, the white dots turned brown on the outside instead of staying white. So, I'm going to try to put the black polka dot cupcake liner into a foil cupcake liner when baking and see if that preserves the white dots. Then take it out of the foil liner to serve.

Nordic Ware Cast-Aluminum Nonstick Baking Pan, Mini Hearts Review

Nordic Ware Cast-Aluminum Nonstick Baking Pan, Mini Hearts
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Nordic Ware Platinum Collection. This is from the finest line of Nordic Ware baking pans and fits a small toaster type oven, too. (9 inch diameter.) Pan sections take only 1/4 cup batter, NOT 1/2 cup as stated on Amazon! You get TINY cakes, so you might want to take advantage of the "buy 4 get one free" on this item on Amazon. (4 pans easily fit in a regular oven for baking all at once.) These are delightful presentation cakes that impress everyone! We heat the pan as the oven heats, and use food release spray inside the molds (tho this pan is nonstick) then cleanup is a snap - with a brush and hot water (NO SOAP) - then set them in the still-warm oven to dry for the next time. My favorite cake is lemon with a simple lemon juice and glazing sugar (or powdered sugar) icing.
Note: Professional bakers say you will not ruin the surface of the non stick interior, and will get excellent release, IF you spray the pan after it is HOT. "Glazing sugar" is powdered sugar WITHOUT the grainy cornstarch and is available from Bakers Supply sites, like Bakers Catalog dot com.

Enjoy a memorable finale to luncheons, dinner parties, and other casual or formal gatherings with this delightful baking pan, which measures 8-3/4 by 8-3/4 by 1-1/2 inches. Great for Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Sweet 16 birthdays, and other holidays and everyday occasions, the versatile pan can be used to create miniature tea cakes or petits fours, shape exquisite gelatin favors, bake individual brownies, and concoct hundreds of other delicious treats. The bakeware provides six 1/2-cup molds in smooth, perfect heart shapes, with decoratively scalloped pan edges and a center heart cutout continuing its fun-loving design. Crafted of durable cast aluminum for fast, even heating, the pan's nonstick coating maintains each cake's flawless edges and intricate detail while ensuring uniform browning and easy removal. For best results, brush with solid vegetable shortening and dust with flour when filling with raw batters or doughs. Made in the USA, the oven-safe baking pan should not be used with metal utensils, scouring pads, or abrasive cleaners, and it cleans up easily by hand with warm, soapy water.

First of all I have to say that I love Kitchen-aid.I bought this item just last week and I was very excited to bake in something I didn't have to grease.I baked a cake and followed all the instructions and let the cake cool completely before unmolding it,I was extremely dissapointed to see my cake fall apart and half of it stuck to the mold.I'm going to return it and will never buy another silicone mold from Kitchen-aid.This is the second silicone mold I try,the first one being that infomercial one.I think I'll stick to the old fashion way baking.

KitchenAid Silicone Loaf Pan, Red Review

KitchenAid Silicone Loaf Pan, Red
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I just made some banana bread in the silicone rubber loaf pan. It was a really weird experience. The loaf pan is a soft rubber and doesn't feel structural enough to bake anything. There are two main advantages. 1) Nothing sticks to silicone rubber. 2) The silicone rubber loaf pan is so flexible I could probably turn it inside out, and that makes it easy to remove baked items.
My banana bread is usually baked onto the metal non-stick loaf pan when it emerges from the oven. Then I let it cool and it steams in the pan and is essentially glued to the pan. The loaf comes out, but the crust has turned to goo and is stuck in the loaf pan. With the Kitchenaid silicone loaf pan, the loaf just popped right out. It wasn't too browned. It made a beautiful loaf, like a picture in a cookbook. The sides pooched out a little, but not badly.
There was no silicone oil or chemical smell as reported in other reviews. Perhaps that was caused by an earlier batch of bad bakeware, or using the silicone rubber pan under a broiler and overheating it? I baked at 350 F in an electric oven and the loaf pan seemed chemically inert and the banana bread tasted fine.
In addition to seeming weird, there are some functional differences. Compared to metal pans, I'd add some more time or bake at a higher temperature. And no more reaching in with one oven mitt and pulling out the pan. The silicone rubber loaf pan requires two hands and two oven mitts.
Because the silicone loaf pan is so incredibly nonstick, cleanup was extremely easy. My only problem? I just bought some nice metalic Kitchenaid nonstick bakeware. It's very nice, but the silicone rubber pan works so well it's like alien technology.
Did I mention it's *really* non-stick?

Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned Cornbread Wedge Pan Review

Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned Cornbread Wedge Pan
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am very glad that I finally picked up this piece! I have several Lodge pieces and they are all very important pieces in my kitchen.
I would like it to be a little bit larger and was also kind of hoping it would come with some basic cooking instructions. But, since I am fairly experienced with cast iron, I didn't have a hard time figuring out the best way to use this pan.
If anybody out there is thinking about getting it, or has already purchased this pan and has yet to master it, here is what I have come up with -
1) Preheat your oven (I use 450F for cornbread). THEN, put a small amount of butter (or whatever fat it is that you prefer) in the wedges and kind of brush it around so that it will coat both the sides and the bottom. Put the pan in the preheated oven to get it nice and hot.
2) Meanwhile, have your cornbread batter ready to go. I found that it takes about half of the recipe that I was using in an 8" square Pyrex previously. Take the pan out of the oven (I have one of those Lodge skillet handle potholders that works great). IMMEDIATELY, spoon the batter into the wedges. I have found (through trial & error) that filling each well to about 3/16" from the top works great. Get it right back in the oven. For me, 15-16 minutes baking time seemed to be about perfect.
As long as you heat up the pan and the fat that you use in the pan (I prefer a little tiny bit of butter in each well), it will cook evenly and nothing will stick to the pan. I mean, there isn't even residue in the corners or anything. The pan looked clean when I removed the cornbread. I did this several times with identical results.
One more hint for the day - If you want to additionally season the pan (I did this before the first time I used it), scrub it out and dry it VERY well. Place a thin coat of Crisco over every surface of the pan. Don't slather it on thickly, and be sure that the top surfaces don't have any excess (I gently run a paper towel over the top ridges of the pan). Preheat the oven to 400-425F. Put the pan in the oven upside down, so that there is less surface area on the oven rack, and leave it in the hot oven for at least an hour. Turn off the oven, leaving the pan inside to cool of its own accord. You will have a beautifully seasoned pan that doesn't have the residue that you get using oil.

Reynolds Baking Cups, Designer Mini, 100-Count (Pack of 24)
Average Reviews:

They work fine, but I got them to use in the wells of my Babycakes Cupcake Maker, and they're a little too small. I had an old package of Reynolds that said "mini cups" and they fit the wells perfectly, so I was thrilled to find these available through Amazon.com - and I ordered a whole bunch of them. When they arrived, they were clearly smaller than the old ones I had. I use them anyway, but the "larger" mini was easier to fill with batter and made a "bigger" mini-cupcake. As for performance, they're great - cupcakes are portable and no cleanup.

Fox Run Red Foil Standard Bake Cups, 32 Cups Review

Fox Run Red Foil Standard Bake Cups, 32 Cups

Don't buy!!These liners stick to the cupcake pan. The red dye used to color the liner stained my nonstick cupcake pan. I ruined a batch of cupcakes trying to get them out of the pan. I've used silver foil liners in the past and have not had this problem. It has something to do with the red coloring agent.
